I would crawl back in my cocoon
Shielding myself from the rest
Worried more of other's thoughts
But, not put myself to test
Weakness, I keep to myself
Potraying an image that's not I
Start living in duality
Wary of the snoopy eye
The inhibitions, Can I shed
The false image, Can I tear
The reactions, Can I unhook
The naked truth, Can I bear
I can shield, I can cover
There's nowhere, I can run
An affirmative to the epochal questions
Life is sorted, and done
The unflinching move to do the dare
The penchant to break that shield
The sublime beauty of the emerging self
So true we all wear masks and they are different for every occasion!
ReplyDeleteThanks for chipping in, Vandana!
DeleteBeautifully executed...!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouraging words, Sanaa!
DeleteHiding is what we do all the time.. maybe we are doing what we think that's expected.
ReplyDeleteSo glad, you dropped by, Bjorn!

Oh my....those words, coming from you, made my day. Thanks a bunch!
DeleteMasks as shields...we war ourselves to become another's opinion. Great piece. It makes me want to stand taller in who I am.
ReplyDeleteYeah, shouldn't that be our only concern. So happy, you felt that way. Those encouraging words are always a treat. Thanks Susie!
DeleteThis is lovely ... how many of us can break the shield successfully?
ReplyDeleteGuess, thats's one of the toughest thing to do. Glad, you liked it, Amrit!
